Know Your Rights About Suspensions, Expulsions Talk in Flint

January 14, 2016 @ 9:00 pm
January 15, 2016 @ 8:45 pm

Are you happy with the special education services being provided to your child at their school? Has your child been suspended or expelled causing them to miss 10+ days this school year? Join Michigan Protection & Advocacy Services (MPAS), Michigan Faith In Action, New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, and the ACLU of Michigan to learn about your rights in the Flint school system.

This free event, led by ACLU of Michigan, targets parents who have children in the Flint school district (Traditional Public or Charter Schools) that have questions or concerns about special education and/or discipline issues at school. We will have food, advocates, and several attorneys present to answer questions and provide information to people of Flint.

For more information about this event, contact Giancarlo Guzman at 313-502-9884 or GGuzman@aclumich.org. This event is free and open to the public (doors open at 5:30 p.m. for food service) .
