Lily Eggers is the West Michigan Clerk Engagement Organizer for the ACLU of Michigan. In this role, Lily works with local clerks to ensure that everyone has access to the ballot in pursuit of protecting our democracy.
Lily has deep roots in West Michigan, growing up in Holland, Michigan and calling Grand Rapids her home since attending college and graduating with her Bachelor’s in Social Work. The singular time Lily lived outside of West Michigan was the one year she spent in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the University of Michigan obtaining her Master’s in Social Work specifically studying community organizing and policy. Lily has a vast experience base to draw from in climate justice, poverty alleviation, food justice, anti-racism, and higher education access work. Her commitment to social justice and place-based practice is what led Lily to the Clerk Engagement position at the ACLU.
When she’s not on the clock, Lily enjoys attending community events, walking the Grand Rapids neighborhoods with her spouse and two dogs, indulging in the great coffee and food the city has to offer and spending time in the beautiful natural areas of West Michigan.
