Abortion rights are under relentless attack in Michigan.
This week, an anti-abortion group submitted enough signatures to put a dangerous citizens initiative in front of the Michigan Legislature that will criminalize a safe method of abortion that is the standard of care at 14-15 weeks of pregnancy.
This is wrong.
Pregnant people must be able to make their own decisions with the advice of the health care professional they trust – without interference from politicians who presume to know better. These bans are unconstitutional and fly in the face of clear Supreme Court precedent which has squarely held that a ban on the most commonly-used method of abortion is unconstitutional.
We must organize now.
