Four years ago, my son Jabari and otherFlintschoolchildren poisoned bylead-contaminated drinking watersued the stateand local school districtsbecause theywere not gettingthespecial educationservices required bylaw. Last month, a settlement agreement in that lawsuit was finally announced. It brings some much-needed good news, not just for Jabari and my family, but for every child whose development was harmed by the lead-laced drinking water officials repeatedly assured us was safe.
