Michigan Legislative Races 2024

Michigan lawmakers make decisions that impact the rights of all Michiganders.  The direction of our state will be decided by who is elected.

While the ACLU of Michigan does not endorse or oppose candidates, nor contributes to their campaigns, we launched a public education campaign to ensure people can make an informed decision this fall. The candidates are running in three competitive state House of Representative races. The candidates are running in six competitive state House of Representative races. Those races include Districts 27, 31, 46, 55, 103, and 109, which cover Van Buren County, Wayne County and Downriver; Jackson County; part of Oakland County; Leelanau County and parts of Benzie and Grand Traverse counties; and the Upper Peninsula.

Click or scroll below to see how the candidates running in these districts responded to our questionnaire on important civil rights issues – including reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and voting rights.
